Some Random Works

In between making specific book bead pieces I've also made some random pieces of various bead style, shape, and colour. So I thought I'd share some of them, which will be added to my Etsy shop later this week!

I had found an ad in a magazine that had this pretty light teal colour in it, and I couldn't wait to make beads from it! I paired them with some pinks, and made this bracelet of pretty pastels!

I love making these pendants with all the charms, so I put a few together, and then made the necklaces to go with them. I love the colours of this one in particular :)

I used a lot of chain with this necklace, but added some paper beads as well of course. I like this one so much I've worn it a few times! Does that mean I have  to list it as "used"? ;P
(p.s. Note the little grizzly bear charm...one of my new favourites!)

I used random book beads for this necklace, and, again, lots of chain, and some pretty pearls and large pendant. I love how it turned out :)

Another random book page bead bracelet...2-strands this time. A friend of mine ended up buying this for a friend of hers. I added a little owl charm to it, as per her request, and it looked so cute!

Had a few extra random book page beads left over, so what better use for them than earrings? I'm tempted to wear these as well... ;)

Lastly, here's a sneak peek of a few beads I just made this morning. I tried a different method, yet again, and I love how these look! I used scrapbook paper, and used 3 strips per bead, which makes the bead nice and thick like this. I love the chunky look! These are being used for yet another custom necklace that a friend requested. I can't wait to get it finished! It's going to be the perfect Fall necklace ;)

So that's what's been keeping me busy as of late! When I'm done this Fall necklace with the above chunky beads, I will be done my special requests so far, so I've got to start thinking about what I want to do next! I hope to have some updates soon!

Busy Day!

I have had a very busy day today working on making some new necklaces... as a result, I ended up completing 4 new ones! And I've still got beads ready for 2 more, which I'll hopefully get to do tomorrow. :) So I thought I'd share some quick pictures of the ones I got done today!

First, I made this turquoise and brown necklace. The paper beads all have turquoise colour in them, and then I used some wooden beads and a few turquoise beads among them. And of course, finished it off with my favourite owl pendant. :)

More fun colours and some wooden beads worked in there. It's got a bit of a second strand of beads too, which I always like to do if I've got enough beads!

Lots of reds in this one! Fun paper beads and some nice glass beads; and again with a bit of a second strand. This one's pretty funky!

This was my last one of the day. I've really liked making this style of necklace, and have had good reactions to them too. I did this one in purples, for something a bit different again. :)
I also did another one of this style the other day, in blues:

So overall, I've got quite a few nice additions ready for order!
Now, I'm going to go relax for the evening, and leave the rest of these beads until tomorrow!
Good night all!

Rainbow of Colours

I made a big batch of beads this past week, and some of them turned out so colourful! Each bead has lots of colour, and all together they're nice and bright and fun. I made this necklace with a turtle pendant using some of them:

I love it! Very summery and fun :)

I also made 2 new necklaces using metal bails I recently bought... one with chain and pendants, etc., and one with paper beads. They're both kind of neat:

I ended up selling this one within 10 hours of making it, so I'll be making more like this for sure!

Got some paper beads in there, along with glass beads and lots of different pendants!

I've got lots of colourful beads left, so I'll be making some more bright, cheery pieces this week I'm sure!

Chains

Sorry that I haven't updated in a while! I've been busy making jewelry still, and trying out some more new styles. I've been playing around with chain necklaces and making some layered pieces and doing some fun stuff with different beads, along with the paper beads. Stuff like this:

And I just bought some metal bails today to make some more like this... I'm sure I'll be updating with more pictures soon!
I also made this style of necklace this past week with paper beads and chain:

Last, but not least... my newest arrival for UC is my new business cards! People keep asking me where they can buy stuff, so now I can just hand them one of these!

Well, I'm off to finish up some more beads. I've got about 150 or so sitting here ready to glaze, so I've got lots to do today! Hopefully it won't be so long before I update again!
Have a great day!

A Matching Set

I posted pictures of the funky new bracelet I made the other day, and so I wanted to post now to show the new pieces I made that are sort of similar to it. Using longer/thicker paper makes these rounder beads, which are pretty fun... and these were in such bright colours that I was extra fun to work with them! So I put together a choker necklace, and a matching bracelet. Enjoy!

You can find the necklace in my etsy shop here and the bracelet here

New Style

A few days ago I got quite a bit of junk mail in my mailbox at my apartment, and while looking at it I realized I could probably make some pretty good beads out of it! There were some long brochure-like ads with lots of colour, so I figured it would be worth cutting them up and using them for something! They ended up being nice round beads that were good and fat. So I thought I'd try a new style of bracelet with them. I first connected them to a bit of chain...

I used different small beads on either side of the paper beads for extra style
Then I just kind of kept going, and made another strand similar to this one, and then used some of my other longer/smaller beads to string a 3rd strand. I put them all together, and got this:

I really like it! Something totally different, and fun! It's for sale on my etsy shop for $12! Check it out
