Link Bracelets

I have been busy, busy, busy, working on new pieces! I got more of the items I had ordered in the mail, and have been loving making bracelets with them. This seems to be a really popular style right now--bracelets with a large link/charm in the middle--and I can see why! They look great! Here are some bracelets I made with some of the new links:

I started with the cross links, since I had a few requests for them

A couple more various links

This is probably my favourite bracelet yet! I love the little silver beads in between the paper ones. I've got to get more of those!

The colours on these beads are awesome. I love seeing how beads turn out once they're rolled... sometimes you get some nice surprises!

I've already sold a few of these, but I'll be making more for sure! I'll post more as I make them, so keep your eye out! :)
Until then!

Some Random Works

In between making specific book bead pieces I've also made some random pieces of various bead style, shape, and colour. So I thought I'd share some of them, which will be added to my Etsy shop later this week!

I had found an ad in a magazine that had this pretty light teal colour in it, and I couldn't wait to make beads from it! I paired them with some pinks, and made this bracelet of pretty pastels!

I love making these pendants with all the charms, so I put a few together, and then made the necklaces to go with them. I love the colours of this one in particular :)

I used a lot of chain with this necklace, but added some paper beads as well of course. I like this one so much I've worn it a few times! Does that mean I have  to list it as "used"? ;P
(p.s. Note the little grizzly bear charm...one of my new favourites!)

I used random book beads for this necklace, and, again, lots of chain, and some pretty pearls and large pendant. I love how it turned out :)

Another random book page bead bracelet...2-strands this time. A friend of mine ended up buying this for a friend of hers. I added a little owl charm to it, as per her request, and it looked so cute!

Had a few extra random book page beads left over, so what better use for them than earrings? I'm tempted to wear these as well... ;)

Lastly, here's a sneak peek of a few beads I just made this morning. I tried a different method, yet again, and I love how these look! I used scrapbook paper, and used 3 strips per bead, which makes the bead nice and thick like this. I love the chunky look! These are being used for yet another custom necklace that a friend requested. I can't wait to get it finished! It's going to be the perfect Fall necklace ;)

So that's what's been keeping me busy as of late! When I'm done this Fall necklace with the above chunky beads, I will be done my special requests so far, so I've got to start thinking about what I want to do next! I hope to have some updates soon!

More Austen

I feel as though I haven't been producing as many pieces of jewelry as I had been earlier this year, but I'm still at it, adding to my stock little by little! After I made all of those Sherlock Holmes pieces, I made a couple of pieces with random book page beads...which was a lot easier! No searching for names and specific words to use cuts the process of making the beads in half! lol But after those, I did do another book--Mansfield Park, by Jane Austen. I know, I've done lots of Austen, but this book was a request from a friend, and it's my goal to make pieces from all of her books anyway. ;) So, I prepared lots of beads, all of which bear a name or title from the book, and got to work! Here are some pictures of them all...

I made sure every bead had a character name, or the name of a place from the book

I made these 2 bracelets first... simple, but pretty :)

This cuff bracelet was a custom order for a friend. I made it a bit different from my other cuffs, as I strung black beads instead of using chain as the main frame for the bracelet. I like how this one turned out, and I think I'll use this method again next time I made a cuff bracelet. :)
(A shout out to my friend Cindi who ordered this for her friend as a gift--I'm so grateful to my friends and family for their support!)

And last, but not least... a necklace was a must, of course

So those are my latest Austen additions! I'll post again with other miscellaneous pieces I've made recently. Until then!

More Faith

A friend of mine owns a Christian bookstore in the Niagara region, and she is going to be putting some of my bracelets in her store to see how they do! So I got busy making a bunch more bracelets featuring the cross beads I posted about a couple of entries back, and a few other charms I came across. I hope they sell well... it'll be a good test to see how they do in an actual store! If they sell well, then I can hopefully continue making them for the shop. And if they don't sell, well, then at least I tried! ;) Here are the bracelets going for the "test-run":

I really like the Ichthus charms, and I have a feeling the will be the first to sell. I wish I had been able to find more of them!

As you can see, there is a bit of a variety of different styles... some with charms, some without... and lots of colour! It was fun making all of these :) I'll do an update once I know how they did in the store!
'Til then... ! :D

I am Sherlocked!

It has been quite a while since I've updated, again! My apologies! But my lack of updates doesn't mean that I haven't been busy making stuff! I've been busy as ever, and have loads of new jewelry in stock. :) My latest additions have been more "Literary Fashion" bracelets, using Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" books. I've been a huge fan of Sherlock stories for a very long time, and I've been looking forward to making some jewelry with these book pages. So, this is what I came up with:

First I went through a book and found pages that had names and various words I wanted to use on the beads, and measured and cut the strips of paper accordingly. It took me about 10+ hours to prepare the strips, roll the beads, and glaze them. Then it was on to the fun part...

I made 4 bracelets first, with beads showing words including Sherlock, Holmes, Watson, Baker Street, Baskervilles, Lestrade, and Scotland Yard.

And one for myself as well ;)

Then necklaces, both with a second strand added in. The necklaces had beads that showed words including Sherlock, Holmes, Watson, Moriarty, Mycroft, Lestrade, Irene Adler, Miss Adler, Baker Street, and Baskerville.

And lastly, I saved 2 beads to make these:

A pair of Sherlock earrings!

So those are my Sherlock creations! I'll be adding them to my etsy shop soon!
And I will also update again soon to share more of my latest work that I've completed these past 2 weeks. :)
Blessings!

Faith Inspired

Last week a friend of mine gave me some jewelry that she didn't wear anymore, for me to take apart and reuse all of the pieces: beads, charms, findings, etc. Included in this bag of fun, was a string of little wooden crosses of all sorts of colours. So since I had so many colourful paper beads to use, I thought I'd make a few pieces with these crosses. These were what I made:

This sweet pink one was the first I did...

Then got a little fancier with 2 strands and glass beads among the paper beads. The bracelet on the right has one cross on one strand, and 2 on the other, so no matter how it turns on your wrist, you're going to see at least one!

And lastly, these 2:
I used some beautiful jade glass beads in these, which I've been saving until now. I love how they look! And I also love the clasps on these ones. :)

I also finished a few other random pieces this week...

This 2-strand necklace with paper beads and wooden beads, and this great compass pendant!

And I had another custom order from a friend, who needed a bracelet for someone who loved owls, and another plain one with any kind of charm. So I came up with these:

They went over well! :D

All in all, it's been a busy week and I got A LOT accomplished! Hopefully next week will be just as productive!
